The Savannah Prototype Modeler’s Meet is an annual event to showcase prototype models and for modelers to meet and socialize. Held in Port Wentworth, just outside of Savannah, the Meet attracts modelers from around the Southeast and beyond. All are welcome to attend, whether you have models to display or simply wish to learn.
The 2014 RPM Meet saw 70+ people in attendance with hundreds of models on display. They would like to make 2015 even bigger! Spread the word to all your friends so the event can grow. They would like to see 100+ people this year.
This show will feature the usual format for RPM meets. There will be clinics, model displays, and brotherhood. There will be a limited number of vendors in attendance as well as several Historical Societies. Due to the emphasis of these meets being on models, please be sure to bring lots of them. There is plenty of room so that is not an issue. The more models the merrier!
The 2015 clinics are still being scheduled. Below is the 2013 list:
- Wire Bending For Model Building
- Modeling A Georgia Rd. SW-7
- Turning An Athearn “Blue Box” SD-50 Into An Accurate Contest/Display Model
- Upgrading The Genesis SCL GP-9 To QSI Stereo Sound
- Late Seaboard System/Early CSX In Eastern North Carolina
- Building The Calabash Terminal Railroad
- Corrections For The New Genesis Southern GP38-2
